I was the fireman and the driver was Peter Whitwam on the last engine to leave Ardsley shed on the 31st October 1965 we took the engine to bellview shed Wakefield

Hi Michael, thanks for your comment, sorry I've not seen it earlier.
DeleteAs a kid I used to come down to Ardsley and watch the trains, very busy then. However, the shed was always hard to get round and I have been chased out a time or two. The best time was Saturday afternoon or better still Sunday when things were quiet.
I still have a shed duty list, signed by acting shedmaster Mr Davies, which I took from the noticeboard after the shed had closed.
