Shed Allocations 1961 - Recent Additions

Days Out No. 59 : 24th July 1960 - Lancashire & North Yorkshire

A trip organised by the London Branch of the RCTS (Railway, Correspondence and Travel Spciety) to the sheds of North & East Lancashire and part of the West Riding of Yorkshire. The journey began on the 11.05pm train Euston to Preston which departed 25 minutes late.
11.30pm Euston to Preston (25 min delay) a 15 coach train hauled by Jubilee class 4-6-0s 45559 "British Columbia" and 45672 "Anson" as far as Stafford where three coaches were detached. At Crewe 45672 was detached and 45559 took the 12 coaches as far as Preston. Arrive time was 5.40am, 70 minutes late. A Ribble, 41 seater 'Leyland Tiger' coach (no. 1011) took the party forward from Preston.
