Shrewsbury shed yard on 28 August 1949.  This view shows the two adjoining depots of the ex Great Western (left) and the London & North Western (right).

This was a trip which was part of a tour of the North Midlands and North Wales. The Group started from Shrewsbury and travelled by car via Chester and then onto North Wales, finishing at Bangor at 9.30pm.
