Horwich Works
The workshops of the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railwaylocation:Built on 142 hectares of land near Bolton.
opened:1886, when the L&YR moved from its original works at Miles Platting, Manchester.
closed:The last engine was repaired in 1964, though work continued on other rolling stock until 1983.
