Gateshead Works
Gateshead Works was built by the Stockton & Darlington Railway between 1862 and 1863, but with a few months it had been taken over the North Eastern Railway and made the headquaters for its Locomotive Department.
The Works closed in 1959 and was used as a repair shop for local locomotives.
