| Darlington Works and Shed |
| 1965 was the final full year of operations at Darlington Works. Building of new engines had ceased, but the maintenance |
| of both diesels and steam continued. The Stanier class 8F 2-8-0s were the most numerous class repaired and they came |
| mainly from depots in Lancashire and Yorkshire. |
